CLASS of 79  20th REUNION
by  Michelle LaBonte Strilich
It's reunion time again, old friend. We thought high school would never end. So young, so cool, so full of life. Who thought we'd have a husband or wife.

Our freshman year was pretty scary. All those upperclassmen in the library. We searched the halls for our first class. Being careful not to look like an ass. Our freshman year...it came and went. We're not quite sure what it all meant. Still, all in all we had a great time. Where the beverage of choice was Boonesfarm wine.

Sophomores at last! It was long getting here. We feel so much better...now pass me the beer! The second rung of the ladder...we'll keep up the climb. Let's go to Notch Road and have a good time! Biology, algebra...it all seemed so phony.  And we all could have done without Mr. Macarony! With an English test here and a Science test there. Nevermind that...what do you think of my hair?

Our Junior year came...it's time for our rings! Let's see what upperclassmanship brings! For most, it was our very first formal. The dresses, the tuxes...how could we feel normal. Three years have passed and we're still going strong. Who would have thought it would seem this damn long? Well, now we're all driving but never really go far. Hey...how many kids can we fit in that car?

Our fourth year's upon us...the crowning glory! But we know this is not the end of our story! It's time to start thinking of going away. I wish we could all be together and stay. Graduation is here...we've finally made it! The finals, the parties, the music...we played it (loud)! We bade our good-byes and promised to write. We laughed and we cried and talked until light.

And now we look back and remember it well. From grade school to high school, there's so much to tell. We laugh and we think, "where did the time go?" Our 20th year...we've had time to grow. Although time has passed, we're all still the same. Not very different from where we once came. We reminisce and we talk...we know each other so well. It all seems like yesterday...the sound of that bell. That's the beauty of friendship...no matter how long. We go on with our lives but it still remains strong. So, here's to us...let's give a few cheers. Who ever thought it would be 20 years... Happy 20th Renunion everyone!
